The thing about traveling companions is they can drag you into some stuff.

And we can drag them into some stuff.

And we walk together.

Even if we might not always take the same stand, we still walk together.

And here's the thing, and this is so important to know,

when so many of us will say, well, I don't agree with them on everything I ask you to tell me today who do you know that you agree with on

everything I mean honestly I'm asking you because if you have found that person my guess is

they want very much to win your approval. So they just act like

they agree with everything you say. Because I just don't know. I do not know that you're going to

find the person in everything you say. Every preference you have, they're right there with you.

So what has happened here in Thessalonica is that they had to leave sooner than they planned. Something happened where then they were sort of rushed out of town. I'm talking about Paul Silvas and Timothy. And they had to leave them

prematurely. So he's making reference to that as he writes back to them. So I'm going to pick up at

217. And I'm going to read through three, three. Two, 17. But as for us, brothers and

sisters, after we were forced to leave you for a short time in person, not in heart, we greatly

desired and made every effort to return to see you face to face. So we wanted to come to you.

Even I, Paul, time and again, but Satan hindered us. For who is our

hope or joy or crown of boasting in the presence of our Lord Jesus that is coming? Is it not you? Indeed,

you are our glory and joy. Now, this is a side note here, but it's a lesson all its own. I just don't

have time to work it into this lesson, but I want you to notice something.

I want you to notice how he says, but Satan hindered us from getting back to you.

Satan has a whole lot that he invests in keeping people apart that could do powerful things in the name of Jesus together.

It is his business to make sure that he is hindering as often as he can.
