So who's around the table with me today? I'm very pleased to introduce to Viv Groskop, writer and broadcaster, Juno Dawson, the author and Kenya Hunt, deputy editor of L magazine. Welcome to you all.

Looking ahead to next year, I know Juno, you have a particular, I don't know if I can call it a New Year's

resolution, a hope for next year. What is it? And it's with regards to trans, isn't it? So the trans

debate. Oh, yeah. Well, I'm hoping that the debate is done. So that's,

that's my hope going into next year. So obviously, earlier this year, we had the government

consultation on proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act. And this really was, I guess,

the pinnacle of awful in my transition so far.

So I came out into a very different environment in 2013.

Things were changing really rapidly.

We had Levin Cox and Caitlin Jenner, and it felt like, dare I say it, broadly speaking,

a positive time to step out of a closet.

And I came out publicly in

2015, not long after Jenna, actually. And over, in the next three years, things have just

gotten worse and worse. And even though my life, I guess, should have been scarier when I first

came out, it's gotten more scary. So when you say you're scared, what are you actually scared of?

Well, because, because there's this general tone in the press of, oh my gosh, once someone

think of the children or, um, are women safe? You start to leave your house and you start to think,

oh my gosh, you know, do people regard me as a threat? You know, and am I going to be

chased out of town with a pitchfork, which is a funny image, but kind of, that's kind of how

it feels on the inside, which is am I being, like, are these people, are you all scared of me?
