So tell us where you work and what you're doing and what this project is all about.

So I'm Alan McInnis.

I'm a children's librarian at the Bronx Library Center, and I use they and them pronouns.

And this project really started at a few years ago for the innovation project, which is an internal staff

award of submitting ideas and things that you'd like to see, change in the library, staff vote on it,

and my project was one of the ones that was picked.

So, Transform NYPL was really my idea to raise staff competency and being able to provide

great service for the trans and gender non-conforming communities. It was really keyed into the

Stonewall 50 celebration last year, which was the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.

And we were really lucky to have a great core team of people come together and help us provide
