Let's go in our Bibles to Mark's Gospel, Chapter 9, this morning.

Mark, Chapter 9.

And we're going to look at a passage of scripture that's referred to as the Transfiguration.

And we're going to focus really only on one small aspect of this storyline.

This passage is intriguing because it's highly theological.

The word theology is a compound Greek word. It comes from the word theos, which is a

reference to God, and the word logos, word or study. And it's a reference to the highest of all

sciences, the study of God himself. And of course, it's within the pages of God's Word

that we are able to discover God Himself.

And this passage of Scripture is going to draw our attention

to really one of the highest, the loftiest of biblical concepts.

And so we're going to read through a portion of this.

We'll start in verse one, and I'll note right away to you what that theological concept is.

Look at verse one.

And He, Jesus, said to them the 12, assuredly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death

until they see, listen, the kingdom of God present with power. So this passage, what we're about to read,

is going to teach us something about the theological concept of the kingdom of God and its present power.

So that's what this story is about. So buckle your seatbelt and get ready because what we're going to

learn is we're going to learn about God's kingdom and its present power. Now here's what happens. Six days

later, verse two, Jesus took Peter, James, and John, led them up on a high mountain apart

by themselves, and he was, what's that next word? Four people saw it.
