I'm your host Dr Kirk Honda I'm a therapist and a professor this first email is from an anonymous listener and she wrote out I'm just going to summarize the

She emailed in to talk about the witches, which is a recent movie remake of the doll book.

And in the movie, they show Anne Hathaway, she's a witch, and there's a whole bunch of other witches and they remove two of the

fingers to make them look like birds I guess in the book and the doll book these it's a children if you don't know the

witches it's a child's book and it's been made into a movie at least a couple

times and the witches act like their regular people but when they're behind closed doors they take off

their gloves and their shoes and it reveals that they have very strange hands and very strange feet.

On their hands, they just have two like fingers and on their feet they have one toe.

And it's supposed to be this really creepy thing.

And after the movie came out there was a lot of people coming out

saying that it was hurtful to people who have different bodies or they were born without a hand or they were born

with the fact that they just had two fingers or something like this and it basically

was making it look like if you were if your body looked differently or you had

different feet or different hands or whatever that you were somehow strange or like a witch something to be afraid of.

And there was a lot of arguing going on online because people really love the witches and they, you a lot of people like this movie and so

they were saying oh come on you know if you watch the movie it's clear that it's not trying to shame anybody it's just supposed to be a witch with

you know these weird bird-like hands and weird feet but as more of the harmed individuals were speaking up it started looking more and more like

this movie actually did something wrong and Ann Hathaway actually came forward and apologized.

And I feel like there's a lot of misunderstanding about it.

I feel like there's a lot of people that think that An Hathaway didn't have to apologize.
