Summary

In this week’s episode, Imara welcomes incredible activists and mothers on to the show to commemorate the celebration of Mother’s Day on May 9th. Imara is first joined by Terri Edmonds, mother of Dominique “Rem’mie” Fells. Terri talks with us about her daughter’s light, how she was portrayed in the media after her death, and the last thing they spoke about.

Then she’s joined by LaSaia Wade, Founder and Executive Director of the Brave Space Alliance, the first Black and trans led LGBTQ+ center on the South Side of Chicago. The two come together for a conversation about entering motherhood, how parenting is different for trans parents, what being a mom has meant for her activism, and more.
