Summary

| 0:46.6 | the Transgender Bill of Rights Resolution, is one effort to do just that. Originally introduced |
| 0:53.1 | in Congress in 2022, just last year, it would call for |
| 0:57.0 | the amendment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include the specific protection of gender |
| 1:03.1 | identity in our laws. This would codify equal access to services and public accommodations, |
| 1:10.0 | employment, and health care. |
| 1:11.4 | It also calls for the creation of a new liaison within the Department of Justice |
| 1:16.1 | to oversee the enforcement of civil rights for trans people. |
| 1:20.7 | With the need for explicit human rights protections for our community being so vital right now, |

| 1:28.6 | people who are working tirelessly to begin cementing trans rights at the federal level. First, |
