from the 1960s through to the 1980s.

competitions he was involved in, as well as the change in US tank tactics as a result of the

learnings from the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.

In America, the Vietnam War is very much part of the Cold War, as is, you know, the Korean

war, the conflict in Grenada, they all work in.

So when I enlisted during the time that America had a draft, just three years before the draft

ended, but I enlisted from a suburb just north of Boston.
