The 4th of July, everybody loves. But the 3rd of July, to me, was always the better day. It's because you knew the 4th was coming so you could just get hammered on the 3rd. You got it. That was the day for the real part of years. And this year, the 4th of July falls on the best day of the week, Friday, because then you essentially, if you include the 3rd of July as part of your festivities, it's a four-day extravaganza. Yeah. And, you know, it works out well for you as you're dying on set. And you't have to uh i'm gonna die yeah no you'll be

all right um so hey uh just celebrate responsibly as always and enjoy yourself shout out to all

the royalty that i just talked about from nfl dot com has been When did you start covering the league, Eric, at

home, and for who was that way back in the day? Yeah, good question. I think my first NFL-related

assignment was at sporting news. I'd gotten that job right out of college in 1998 or something

like that. So I worked a couple years, then joined the NFL team there, did a little,

but really wasn't until I came up here and worked at Pro Football Weekly in 2002 that I was like,

that's really the start of my NFL journey, I think.

You know, we're having Hub Arcus in studio next week, not to let people know.

So you feel free to tell any Hub stories because that's, that, that seems very key in

your development to where you got to today.

Hub was a major instrumental piece in my career development.

He's been a friend, a mentor. I mean, he didn't

talk to me the first three weeks I worked at PFW. Like, you know, I'd see him come in and

race out and his, his leased cars. I mean, you'd have a new one every couple years. He was like,

you know, Mr. Riverwoods back in the day, you know, but, yeah, Hub actually lives a couple

miles from me. We haven't run into each other in a while, but I saw Arthur, his son recently

and I'll take any hub visits I can get.

So it's NFL royalty right there. That's right. Gregory, you're a big hub guy. Oh, yeah.
