On December 3, 1982, on a dark, cold rainy night in southern Mississippi, truck drivers clogged

the CB airwaves with their radio traffic.

One driver chirped into a report that he saw something on.

He'd caught a glimpse of a barefoot woman walking along Interstate 10 dressed in a blue

plaid shirt and jeans carrying a baby.

He stopped to offer the distressed woman a ride, but she refused, and tucked her crying

baby, tied her into a blanket in her arms.

Nearly 40 years later, everyone is still asking, what happened to this woman and her baby

girl?

Her and her daughter, they literally just disappeared off the base of the year.

It's a mystery that's plagued law enforcement and the public in southern Mississippi for decades.

And once I got into it, it was so overwhelming.

The why is still there.

Her headstone reads, known only to God.

That would be great if we could put a name on that toothstone.

More than that, why did this even happen?
