Hello and welcome to the sleepy bookshelf where we put down our worries from the day and

pick up a good book. I'm Elizabeth, your host. Each night we'll read part of a classic

novel tailored to help you get a good night's rest. We'll take a brief moment to relax

then we'll drift into the imaginative worlds created by these stories and before you

know it you'll be fast asleep. Everything about this show is designed to help you not

off peacefully. That's what makes this the sleepy bookshelf. All of the books are selected

and edited for sleep so you don't need to worry about being startled at bedtime. Each

book is broken into several episodes over the course of a season but don't worry if you

drift off before I finish a part of the story. At the beginning of the next episode I'll

give a thorough recap. That way you can rest easy without worrying about missing anything

important. So if it's bedtime then go ahead and pick out a book you'd like to start. If
