All right, so we have Daedalus here, the mythic craftsman, one of the, maybe not the heroes, but an important character of Greek mythology.

And he escapes with his son Icarus from the tower of his imprisonment, and he does so on artificial wings.

We all know how that goes.

Yes, it has a tragic ending.

But for a little bit, he's soaring above the labyrinth that he designed, that labyrinth that

imprisons the monster, the minotaur, whose unnatural birth, he helped engineer.

And they leave behind these wonders, and they fly toward freedom.

And tragedy, of course, right.

Yeah.

So, Daedalus is this figure, yeah, that's both exalted and devastated by the power of his

own inventions.

And this myth, the myth of Dedalus, its triumph and tragedy at the same time, this is also

really the story of human techno history.
