I'm Dr. Jen Gunter. I'm an OB-GYN and as a doctor I do my best to keep people healthy

our bodies and how to take care of them. It's also our greatest weapon in the battle

against medical misinformation and there's a lot of misinformation out there.

move from your body is your money. There aren't super foods, there's just foods.

And medical myths? Well, they're sneaky villains. They take science and twist it to make

their marketing sound science-ish.

If you tell people that it's all about the science, then people are more likely to believe

it. They pray on our fears and anxieties. You have toxins building up in your blood.

You have toxins building up in your colon. None of us are entirely immune to their lies.

And when you put medical myths under a microscope, you see they're about more than just distorting

science to sell stuff. They're also about taking advantage of the gaps in medicine.

Doctors often come in with, I want to say, common sense racism.

This is actually a purifier. It's a medical ritual. It's a no. This is, in essence, a religious

Celebrity culture helped to make pseudoscience a big business.

And medical myths underestimate how brilliant and amazing our bodies really are.

It works like an exquisitely designed atomic balance machine.

It's really powerful actually that a talking form of therapy can do all this.
