Hi, my name is Beth Moand and my dilemma is the construction project that's going on

outside of my house. And they are building not only condos and office space but a spectacular park.

And the construction work is better than any reality TV show you've ever seen.

And I am spending way too much time looking out my window, trying to figure out exactly

what the park is going to look like. It's going to be spectacular. And it's eating up

way too much of my time. Well, that was a twist to be sure because I thought we were dealing with

the loud noises early call times, you know, all the usual construction across the street woes

that you hear about the construction as compelling television problem. This is one I haven't heard.

But I guess the only way to treat anything that you know is going to divert you from other tasks

and things you need to do is proactive measures. For instance, if I know if I have to sit down and

write some sort of long story for ESPN, I have to close out all the other tabs on my computer because

if I spot a Facebook notification or a little Twitter notification, I'll absently click over,

I'll start scrolling, I'll get lost in the black hole of my men. She's in waste a whole hour

that I'm supposed to be writing. I also can't listen to music when I'm writing because I'll start

singing along with them. So I use this website called Coffitivity and it plays background noise

as if you're in a coffee shop. I think you can select coffee shop or lunchroom or whatever else.

So those are my proactive measures. I'm sure yours will be different, but if you need to get work done

for instance, maybe set up in a room that has no windows towards the construction site. If you're

forced to do the dishes or some other task in front of a window that looks out and you can't do it
