Today we're talking about none other than Brittany Murphy.

Brittany's story, I feel, is one that nobody truly is expected, especially in her earlier

stardom.

You know, you look at this bright, beautiful, vivacious, funny, silly, sweet girl and woman. And the tragic end to her story is not one that

anybody saw coming. And it's just a sad, dark, juxtaposition within her life story.

Brittany really was one of those rare early 2000s movie stars that felt natural,

but she really was funny and vulnerable and unpolished in a way that we don't see Hollywood actresses nowadays.

She had that East Coast Italian edge to her that Hollywood tried to change.

They told her to lose weight when she was never truly overweight, especially by today's standards,

and to dye her hair and bleach her hair to blonde, to become, and this is direct words from

Hollywood to her.

She mentions this is in a magazine, to become more effable.

She's cute, but she's not effable.

So she unfortunately started restricting food, dyed her hair blonde, and she started getting

more roles because that's how toxic Hollywood is and was at the time, because when she was

coming up, if you weren't, especially when she

really took off, if you weren't Parris Hilton, six feet tall with long blonde hair, you weren't

what they were looking for in these roles.

Now, she still did get plenty of roles just because of who she was, though.
