| 0:00.0 | Hey, I'm Ryan Mallory, and this is my swing trading, the stock market podcast. |
| 0:11.3 | I'm here to teach you how to trade in a complex, ever-changing world of finance. |
| 0:16.2 | Learn what it means to trade profitably and consistently, managing risk, avoiding the pitfalls of trading, |
| 0:22.1 | and most importantly, to let those winners run wild. You can succeed at the stock market, |
| 0:27.4 | and I'm ready to show you how. Hey, everybody. This is Ryan Mallory with Swing Trading the Stock |
| 0:31.7 | Market. And today I'm going to talk about trading versus gambling. I had a person that sent |
| 0:35.1 | me an email recently, and I'm not going to give his name out. We'll call this person Diana. We'll go with Diana. Doesn't mean it was a girl. |
| 0:42.4 | Could have been a guy. We'll just go with Diana. The reason why I don't give out the names, |
| 0:45.5 | because I want people to be able to feel like they can send me an email. And these emails, |

| 0:58.2 | sending me here, which by the way is not the real name, is something that other people are likely |
| 1:02.6 | to be struggling too. So with a large audience that listens to my podcast, it benefits everybody |
| 1:08.0 | to hear about this email. And I get emails about people talking about |
| 1:12.3 | the podcast that I talked about somebody's email and how much it benefited them. So I know firsthand |
| 1:16.6 | that it does benefit a lot of people. So I'll go right into this email and then I'm going to |
| 1:20.2 | dissect it line by line. He says, hi Ryan, love the podcast, 22 years old. Thank you for liking my podcast. |
| 1:30.4 | I have $20,000 to invest. |
| 1:32.1 | Got it from a car accident settlement. It fell down to $17,000 at one point, and it got up to $26,000 in June after owning 500 shares of S-AVE, which is Spirit Airlines, JetBlue, JBLU, 10 shares of Boeing, PA, and a $15 strike option |
| 1:47.0 | that expires in December on JETS. And if you don't know what JETS is, that's basically an airline |
| 1:53.1 | ETF. He goes on to say, it'd be an understatement to say that I went all in on the airlines. |
| 1:58.6 | Yes, you definitely went all in on the airlines big time. I mean, |
| 2:02.5 | that's scary. I would not sleep. In hindsight, however, it was an excellent move bringing in |
