In this sip-sized segment, we’re going grass-roots – or at the very least, grass-noted – with a conversation about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. More specifically, we’re highlighting Raorao Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region, an area on the South Island renowned for this varietal (among others). This wine is an excellent expression of Marlborough Sauv Blanc – a quick listen here will reveal what makes this wine so special, some delicious pairing ideas, and what a tremendous value it is at Trader Joe’s.

0:41.7	Thanks, everybody. I appreciate you having me.
0:43.5	And you have a specific recommendation for us today?
0:46.7	We do, we do. We have the Rao Rao Sauvignon Blanc from Marlboro, New Zealand.
0:51.8	Now, word is that you are a fan of Sauvignon Blancs,
0:55.3	of New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs.
0:57.4	So you were involved in bringing this label to stores.
1:01.6	Why?
1:02.1	We identified. There are certain varietals that maybe resonated more with others,
1:05.6	but we realize that the Sauvignon Blanc brings an amazing different variety and palette
1:10.5	that maybe others don't. We initially
1:12.5	introduced the Rao back in 2018 and kind of with the resurgence of the Sauvion Blanc
1:18.3	variety. We are having it come back this spring and summer. So we're really excited to get it
1:23.6	back in our stores. I mean, it is a grape of varietal, as you say, that's grown in lots of places around the world.
1:30.2	But I think of New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs as really supercharging people's interest in Sauvignon Blanc in general.
