Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced 25% tariffs on 155 billion Canadian dollars worth of American goods.

That's after President Donald Trump's

25% tariff on imported goods from Canada and Mexico took effect today.

Now, it's not in my habit to agree with the Wall Street Journal, but Donald, they point

out that even though you're a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do.

Trump's senior advisor says the president plans to, quote,

lean into tariffs during his speech to Congress tonight,

which threatens to ignite a dangerous trade war.

Mexico's president says she'll announce retaliatory tariffs on American imports into Mexico Sunday,

as well as non-tariff measures.

After Trump doubled tariffs on China from 10 to 20 percent, Beijing announced a 15 percent

tariff on certain U.S. food imports and a 10 percent tariff on others.

The Trump administration says the tariffs are necessary to curb fentanyl into the U.S.

But Americans can expect to pay more for a number of imported goods.

Target and Best Buy warned prices will likely go up, with Target warning that the company may raise prices on fruits and vegetables as soon as this week.
