0:00.0	Now let's address a trade that was made a couple of days ago and that was the fact that Hunter
0:06.7	Harvey was dealt from the Washington Nationals to the Kansas City Royals.
0:11.7	The Nationals who were a team that the Mets pretty much made
0:13.8	sellers. They are a team that has a few pieces that I think the Mets could use.
0:17.5	I have specifically mentioned the names Dylan Floro and Jesse Winker.

0:25.2	What I'm about to say is not ideal. Hunter Harvey went for a lot.
0:31.4	So think about this, the Kansas City Royals were able to trade a second round pick in this upcoming draft.
0:38.4	The reason they're able to do that is because in the MLB draft there's an exception for trading picks for teams that hold competitive balance picks.
0:49.0	All teams that have either one of the 10 smallest pay rolls or revenue pools get an additional pick in the first or second round.
0:59.0	So when you saw that trade and you saw, wait a second, how did the Washington Nationals acquire a draft pick I wasn't
1:07.3	familiar with baseball allowing draft pick trades they don't but they do allow it for these small revenue teams because they get these
1:15.5	extra picks, these competitive balance picks, and those picks are allowed to be traded.
1:20.8	So whenever a trade is made, I always like to say, hey, what's the comparison for the Mets? Like, what would have our price have been? Well, we can't trade a draft pick. So the Kansas City Royals offered something that the Mets cannot offer. That's point number one.
1:34.3	Point number two, the kid they traded, Cadyden Wallace, a second round pick from two years ago's
1:41.2	draft, is the second best prospect in the Royals organization.
1:47.6	So Kansas City traded their second best prospect and a very high draft pick for Hunter Harvey.
1:56.0	That is an incredibly high price tag.
1:59.0	And that's why when we've talked about adding relievers, I'm open to the idea of using a starting
2:06.7	pitcher to go get a reliever because that kind of premium to pay, that's an awful lot.
