0:40.7 | massive fire broke out in Australia, especially around the east of |
0:45.2 | Seoul, the east coast of Australia. We called it the Black Summer of 2019 |
0:50.7 | in 2020. It was very, very devastating in New South Wales alone, which is a |
0:55.8 | large state here on the east coast. It destroyed almost two million hectares |
1:00.3 | bushlands. It was quite large. It ripped through the natural wilderness, it |
1:05.8 | destroyed houses, it destroyed lives, people lost their lives, a lot of |
1:10.0 | animal lost their lives. It was one of the most devastating fires in |
1:13.9 | recorded history. Australia is known for its bushfires and its |
1:18.1 | forests harsh weather conditions, but this basic with top everything we had |
1:22.4 | fire tornadoes, we had fire burning in its own weather patterns. So we had a |
1:28.2 | combination of a nasty dry spill and basically the perfect storm to start these |
1:34.2 | fires. Obviously with the hot winds as well, it just escalated the situation for |
1:40.6 | such a degree that it created just an unimaginable destruction. So when this |
1:46.3 | happened and when the fires obviously stopped, we weren't allowed to |
