0:00.0	Hello everyone and welcome to the Property Podcast and Rob B of course with Rob D and this week we have an election special. Yeah, who would have thought it, another political upset?
0:20.0	We didn't think that we were going to be saying much about the election this time around.
0:23.7	We had a different episode lined up for this week, but seeing as things didn't go entirely as expected,
0:29.5	and there are going to be a lot of people wondering what does this mean for property we thought we'd better chip in.
0:35.2	Yeah it's gonna be a quick episode this week but we're gonna get straight to it we're not gonna mess around
0:39.4	we're gonna get into the points into the things that matter and importantly, what does this mean for you as a property investor?
0:45.7	All this uncertainty, all these things that have played out over the last few weeks,
0:49.5	as a property investor, is it going to help, is it going to hinder? We'll get to the bottom of it in the next 20 minutes.
0:55.0	Okay, well let's start at looking back and summarising what happened. You'll know what happened.
1:00.0	There is a hung parliament. the Tories were meant to get a
1:04.0	stonking majority and they ended up being a minority government holding power
1:08.5	just about with the DUP at the moment so we were meant to be recording this episode the day after the election, but seeing as nobody
1:17.2	knew what was going on, we've waited until the Monday morning, but it could have all changed
1:21.5	since then. But as we're recording, the Tories are in power and Theresa May is the Prime Minister.
1:26.6	A lot of ministers lost their seats as part of the election, including the Housing Minister, Rob.
1:32.4	Yes, so poor old Gavin Barwell the
1:35.9	housing minister he lost his seat so as it stands as we record this we don't have a
1:41.2	housing minister but I wouldn't worry too much because they didn't have
1:44.5	much power and it wasn't an important enough office position for the government to place somebody in by the
1:50.2	Monday so we've lost Gavin which is a little bit ironic actually, there's a little
1:55.2	footnote on that. He actually wrote a book on how to win marginal seats after his last win, and he lost his marginal
2:01.6	seats. So I don't think his book sales is going to be going too strong Rob after this.
