Summary
Andrew Pollard is one of those kids that grew up at Alta and had the mountain as his babysitter/playground. And while it took Andrew a little longer to become a name in the ski industry--compared to his pro skier friends and classmates, Andrew eventually made it to the top. But what's different and cool about Andrew's story is that he's not just a skier; he's also, an artist, a DJ, freeride coach, and in the podcast, he has no filter. All of this makes for a fun episode and Andrew's little sister Jackie asks the Inappropriate Questions.

| 0:13.3 | Welcome to the Powell Movement. |
| 0:17.1 | I'm your host Mike Powell, and as you're listening to this intro, |
| 0:20.5 | I'm on a plane to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to meet up with the outside life crew to ski and party and the snow looks like shit. |
| 0:28.0 | Based on how my life went in 2025, I didn't really expect for good conditions. |
| 0:32.9 | So what did I do? I sent Austin a message at Outside Life, and I was like, hey, Austin, can you set me up with demo skis? I don't want to ruin my own skis on the shark's teeth that are going to be sticking out at Jackson Hole. And Austin came through with my first rental ski reservation in 30 years. And he got me the insurance. So while I'm not going to go rock hunting, I'm not going to worry about core shots if I hit anything. So thanks for that, Austin. Thanks for the insurance as well. I'm looking forward to skiing and partying our faces off together. What I also need to do while I'm in Jackson Hole is put a podcast episode together. The plan was just to go to Jackson and document my travel and talk to the local pros there and get a fun podcast out of it. But I can't count on me getting a ton of work done on this trip because, as I've said, I'm going to be partying my face off. So I'm going to front load next week's podcast with some quick chats that I record here in Seattle. There's some ski and snowboard legends that are going to be in town this week. I'm going to head out tonight and meet some of them. I'm going to head out tomorrow night and meet some of them. And I'm going to get some great sound bites. That way, I go into Jackson with half of my work done and I'll have a podcast ready to go a week from Monday. But you're not worried about next week's episode. It's just me who's worried about that. Right now, it's time for me to tell you about who's up this week. And Andrew Pollard is one of the many Alta kids to grow up and make something of himself in the ski industry. When I met Andrew a couple months ago, we talked about doing a podcast, and he made it sound like he was going to be really guarded or shy when we finally recorded. But boy, was I wrong about that assumption. This one-time rookie of the year on the |

Before we get into it, I need to let you know that I'm going to get away from the AI editing. Enough of you have said that you can tell the difference, so I'm going to put the extra three to four hours in a week and make this show as good as it can be. |
| 2:21.3 | I mean, while I complain about being busy, this show has my name on it, and if you notice a difference, then that bothers me, and I'm going to change back to making the show great. So thank you for your feedback there. If you have any more feedback for me, hit me up at |

| 2:40.5 | Will I do anything about it? Who knows? But I am this week. So whatever. There's that. |
| 2:45.2 | The sound quality will be better. And as always, I want to thank you for listening. I also want to |

| 3:03.3 | Now, let's chat with Andrew Pollard. |
| 3:08.3 | When I met you at Snowbana, I was like that ski trade show type deal. |
| 3:12.3 | We were watching the movie that you put together and you were mentioning that your mom was going to be super pissed off because you said so many bad words in the movie. |
| 3:20.3 | Was she super pissed off when she saw the movie? |
| 3:23.3 | I actually haven't talked to her about it yet because she missed the premiere in Salt Lake |
| 3:27.7 | because she wasn't India. But she said she liked it. I think my mom just doesn't like |
