I'm your host Mike Powell, and as you're listening to this intro,

I'm on a plane to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to meet up with the outside life crew to ski and party and the snow looks like shit.

Based on how my life went in 2025, I didn't really expect for good conditions.

So what did I do? I sent Austin a message at Outside Life, and I was like, hey, Austin, can you set me up with demo skis? I don't want to ruin my own skis on the shark's teeth that are going to be sticking out at Jackson Hole. And Austin came through with my first rental ski reservation in 30 years. And he got me the insurance. So while I'm not going to go rock hunting, I'm not going to worry about core shots if I hit anything. So thanks for that, Austin. Thanks for the insurance as well. I'm looking forward to skiing and partying our faces off together. What I also need to do while I'm in Jackson Hole is put a podcast episode together. The plan was just to go to Jackson and document my travel and talk to the local pros there and get a fun podcast out of it. But I can't count on me getting a ton of work done on this trip because, as I've said, I'm going to be partying my face off. So I'm going to front load next week's podcast with some quick chats that I record here in Seattle. There's some ski and snowboard legends that are going to be in town this week. I'm going to head out tonight and meet some of them. I'm going to head out tomorrow night and meet some of them. And I'm going to get some great sound bites. That way, I go into Jackson with half of my work done and I'll have a podcast ready to go a week from Monday. But you're not worried about next week's episode. It's just me who's worried about that. Right now, it's time for me to tell you about who's up this week. And Andrew Pollard is one of the many Alta kids to grow up and make something of himself in the ski industry. When I met Andrew a couple months ago, we talked about doing a podcast, and he made it sound like he was going to be really guarded or shy when we finally recorded. But boy, was I wrong about that assumption. This one-time rookie of the year on the

free ride world tour has a lot of opinions, and he shares all of them on the podcast, or at least a lot of them on the podcast. There's no media training here. Before we get into it, I need to let you know that I'm going to get away from the AI editing. Enough of you have said that you can tell the difference, so I'm going to put the extra three to four hours in a week and make this show as good as it can be.
