Summary

Riley Poor landed his dream job, filming backcountry skiers with MSP. His life was a dream, and eventually, he moved on to shoot with Standard Films as a skier, spearheaded a two-year Red Bull project, all while simultaneously managing ski athletes at Nike. He was killing life until a gainer gone wrong at a party created a life-altering injury. On the podcast we talk about moving to Crested Butte, Seth Morrison, the Matchstick mentorship, the accident, and the aftermath.  It’s a must-listen podcast with one of the most beloved people in snow and beyond. Jamie Starr asks the Inappropriate Questions

When I started this thing, I had just left my job in partnership marketing all to start this

podcast and my whole world was totally uncertain. While I believed in myself and my ability to build

something from scratch, that would be awesome for listeners. It was scary not taking a paycheck

0:38.1

for the first time in my life. Well, eight years later, the risk was totally worth it. And while I didn't

0:43.8

blow up and become a Howard Stern or Joe Rogan of Action Sports podcasting, that was never my plan.

My goal was always to have the best guest list in the business and ask the questions that no one else would

ask. So you get an entertaining and educational show. I wanted to tell my guest stories better than they've

ever been told. And I believe I've done that. And over the years, I've had over 2 million downloads,

1:06.0

and nowadays about 10,000 of you check out the channel each week. Thank you for that. It really does mean the

world to me. What else means the world to me is my family, and here is where I finally update you on

This was such a difficult time.

But Anne was a trooper and she went through chemotherapy and beat cancer,

only for it to come back months later as stage 4.

That brought more surgery, radiation, and a total of 32 chemotherapy treatments.

Each one of these treatments starts with eight hours in the hospital
