Summary

Louie Zamora came from nothing to become one of his most influential inline skaters. He was a street skater whose video parts still hold up, a contest skater who podiumed at X and Gravity, an entrepreneur who was responsible for important brands, and a victim of the opioid crisis that's turning his life around. This podcast was a fun and heavy way to catch up with an old friend and relive his past. Eric Schrijn asks the Inappropriate Questions.

Welcome to the Powell Movement.

I'm your host Mike Powell, and I'm finally back from my life-changing Alaska cruise and I didn't get COVID on the trip.

0:23.6

Did it really change my life? Not even close, but Alaska was amazing.

0:27.6

So many incredible views.

0:29.6

One highlight was all the bald eagles we saw.

0:31.6

A few of them took a huge shit on my father, which was laugh out loud funny.

0:36.6

He took it like a champ.

0:38.2

Another highlight was seeing whales, which I've seen in Seattle, but there are so many in Alaska,

0:43.5

and they are incredible. But really, this was my first cruise, and I have my thoughts.

0:48.8

Cruising reminds me of RVing on the water. The people on the boat are a cross-section of

what you would expect at your local

0:54.9

target. There are rich people and there are people who don't have as much and everyone is separated

0:59.7

by cabin classes and drink packages. I didn't notice the separation that much, but there was one

1:05.3

very wealthy family complaining to management from the hot tub and the major complaint that they

1:10.1

had was that

1:11.1

the ketchup was empty. Like really, this family from Mexico was complaining that all the ship's

1:16.2

staff were not American and they couldn't keep the ketchup full. They were being straight

1:20.6

up racist to the management and thought nothing of it. Fuck rich people like them. Equally

1:25.9

discussing to me was the gluttony that every cruise ship is known for.

It's 24-7 all you can eat and drink, and there's a huge variety and everything is free.
