Summary
Ross Rebagliati was the first-ever gold medalist in Olympic snowboarding. He was also the first Olympian to have his medal taken away and given back. Instead of being a blessing, the Olympic Medal ended up being a curse for Ross. On the podcast, we talk about how the biggest triumph of his life turned into a series of wrong turns--for a guy who should be a household name. It's an interesting one with an athlete who was wronged, but he's also an athlete who never really helped himself.

| 0:15.0 | I'm your host Mike Powell, and happy New Year, and welcome to season five of the podcast. |
| 0:20.2 | If you asked me if I'd still be doing this four years ago when I started, I probably would |
| 0:24.6 | have said no. |
| 0:25.5 | I'd think I'd have a job again at this point. |
| 0:27.7 | So I'm so glad I was wrong about that. |
| 0:30.2 | And now I feel like I can keep this going for a long time, especially if you keep listening. |
| 0:35.4 | Because it's all about making content that I like, |
| 0:38.2 | but if I'm being honest with myself, you have to like it too. And I'm hoping to spice it up a little |
| 0:43.1 | bit this year. I'm going to record with a few co-hosts, and if that's entertaining, I'll use it. |
| 0:47.6 | And if not, I'll just delete it and do my normal intros, which is just a bunch of diarrhea |
| 0:52.1 | flowing from my mouth, usually about me. But this is |
| 0:55.3 | the Powell movement, so that is fitting. I will say that recently, I've been asked by a few people |
| 1:00.8 | what my goals for this podcast really are. And to tell you the truth, the only goal I've ever |
| 1:05.9 | really had for this thing was to fill my six sponsor slots. Then I would have a salary that's comparable to my |
| 1:12.1 | last life and that would be great. And while I do think this podcast can lead to bigger things, |
| 1:17.5 | I still want to check off my first goal, filling up my sponsor slots for 2021. And I've done that |
| 1:23.6 | through March. First and foremost, I have 10 barrel, and they have supported me |
| 1:28.1 | and action sports forever. And it's a fucking beer. And while I know some of you don't drink, |
| 1:33.5 | for those of us that do, and when you used to drink, having a beer sponsor was just a dream. |
| 1:38.9 | And when you have beer, you need something to put it in, which is why I have Stanley on board. |
