Summary

Andy Mahre comes from legendary ski blood.  His dad and his twin brother are Olympic Medalists and were part of the fabric of 80's Americana.  Andy's skiing is a totally different direction compared to where his dad was taking skiing.  While Andy did race for a bit, he left that world to become one of the more innovative skiers of his time, with his effortless switch landings, huge drops, and calm style that have inspired a generation of skiers.  It's another do not miss episode.

Welcome to the Powell Movement. I'm your host Mike Powell, and this week I'm going to share a little about my fantasy football league,

0:21.4

the X K2FL. The deal is you can only be in this league if you used to work at K2. The league started

0:28.6

a decade ago as the K2FL and there have been about 20 different players in the league and about

0:34.0

eight of them have been on the podcast. When the league started, my team had the best

0:38.5

helmet in the history of football helmets, and for the past eight years, the helmet has been

0:43.2

banned by ESPN. And while I understand the reasoning for the banning, I'm bummed. See, my team was

0:50.9

and is known as the Jews, and my helmet was simple, classic, and perfect.

0:56.9

It looked identical to a New York Jets helmet which Chris Logan would love, but I replaced

1:01.9

the T with a W. Why am I sharing this with you?

1:05.6

Well, I don't know.

1:07.2

But what I do know is that COVID is really messing with my league this season, and I am over it.

1:12.8

We need a vaccine like right now, and I keep hearing that we're going to have one by the end of the year, but that is not soon enough.

1:19.9

I'm the commissioner of this league, and every time someone goes down with the sickness, I get 15 texts from Sean Tidor about what this league needs to do,

1:29.5

and then I get another 85 texts from the rest of the league talking shit.

1:33.7

At this point, I just silence all the messages and pretend like I got a new phone and I'm not on

1:38.8

the chain anymore. But I really should be silencing myself, as the last thing you need to hear

1:43.4

about is me talking about the XK2FL.

1:46.3

A league that Ben Wallace is the current champion of and a league that Jeff Matura has never won.

1:51.5

If you know Jeff, be sure to reach out to him and let him know that you're aware that he is the Dan Snyder of fantasy football owners.

1:59.1

A guy who could care less about fantasy football, and I'm

2:01.7

guessing football at all is a guy who was born to ski. His dad is an Olympic silver medalist,
