Welcome to the Powell Movement. I'm your host, Mike Powell, and yes, we have made it.

0:17.9

It's the 100th episode. And while I'm not going to tell you my life story on this

0:22.8

intro, you are going to hear a little bit about how we made it to 100. And then on New Year's Eve,

0:28.2

which happens to be my birthday, which also happens to be my anniversary, I'm going to be dropping

0:32.6

a podcast with myself as the guest. People have been asking me to do it for quite a long time, and I really

0:38.2

haven't wanted to do it. I like it better when little bits of my life come out through the show

0:42.4

when they're relevant, because the show is not about me. But right now, this intro is about me,

0:48.4

and getting this thing to 100 was a long journey. And it all started with me working at K2 for 16 years. I had done everything

1:07.1

for more money. And I found one. It seemed like a perfect gig. I was going to make more money.

1:11.8

I was still going to travel the world, work with some amazing brands, and everything was in place

1:17.1

for my life 2.0 to start and be even better than it was at K2. But this new gig, which took me to

1:24.0

Rio before the Olympics and I could have gone back, there were so many great things with it, except for the owner.

1:29.1

She was a miserable person who regularly brought people to tears.

1:33.1

And I worked remote, so I didn't really have to experience it.

1:35.9

She actually loved me, and I didn't have any terrible days at my office.

1:40.4

My plan was the old keep your enemies closer, and that seemed to work for me.

1:44.8

But there was nothing I could do for the others.

1:47.1

Every day was torture, and I experienced it firsthand every time I would visit the home office.

1:52.9

So what did I do?
