Summary

Kent Kreitler is a living legend and TGR Hall of Famer.  He'll be remembered as the skier who helped bring tricks to the backcountry but he was so much more than that.  He was part of an elite crew of skiers that pioneered big mountain skiing in Alaska….the generation that lived fast and took chances.  In part two of his podcast, we talk about the Tahoe years, filming with the Standard Crew, the terrain park on 215's, the X Games, sponsors, money, and more….

You don't know you better ask somebody. You listen into the Powell movement.

0:11.3

Welcome to the Powell movement. I'm your host Mike Powell and I have some really exciting

0:17.4

news to share. I'm vaccinated. And I know in Washington, I don't fit all of the

0:22.7

requirements for the shot yet. But I'm part of this crazy Facebook group, Seattle Vaccine Hunters,

0:28.1

and the other day I woke up at like 4 a.m. in the morning, and I couldn't go back to sleep,

0:33.0

so I decided to work out. And while I was on the bike, I decided to check the vaccine hunter page and

0:38.0

boom, there was a sign up list for waste vaccines. So at 4 a.m., I woke up my wife and we both

0:44.3

signed up and we are now vaccinated. While I'm still going to be careful about things, I am going to

0:49.6

get back to life a little bit. And it all starts with a trip to Bend, Oregon this week for some

0:54.1

time at Bachelor, some bike riding, hot tubbing, some 10 bit, and it all starts with a trip to Bend, Oregon this week for some time

0:54.4

at Bachelor, some bike riding, hot tubbing, some 10 barrel, and some still-distance fun.

1:00.0

The takeaway from all this is that life is getting back to normal, slowly but surely.

1:04.6

And speaking of things getting back to normal, I have a new sponsor who is taking me back

1:09.1

to my roots. See, while I have been a lifelong skier with a seven-year break to snowboard,

1:14.8

I got into the industry through a totally different route, another fun sport, inline skating.

1:20.7

And I'm proud to say that the brand that invented the sport, Rollerblade, has signed on as a sponsor.

1:26.5

And if you are a skier and you don't inline skate,

1:29.5

well, you're missing out on taking your skiing to the next level. The whole ski to skate

1:33.5

thing, it really works and there's nothing quite like the feel of smooth asphalt on a pair

1:38.3

of rollerblade inline skates. So I'm excited about that, but what I'm really excited about is

1:44.1

bringing you part two of the Kent Crichtler podcast.

1:47.6

It's another good one, and I really need to thank the crew at TGR again for giving me access to their premium service.
