Once again this week we have a special guest, Dr. Daryl Nardi, back with us, welcome to

the show.

Absolutely, totally stoked to be back for a second chat as dark as it's going to be.

Yeah and this week we're talking about the toxic personality type.

Yes.

And I thought we could just start off when I say the word toxic, you might be listening

along and you hear the word toxic, you probably have an image or an idea of what that means.

How are we defining the word toxic in this conversation?

So there's a couple of ways we can do it.

One way is to just do an internet search and type in toxic personality type and the person

is going to find a lot of fairly consistent definitions.

Usually it's going to be a list of traits, things like hostile, selfish, negative, low empathy,

poor focus, clicky, judgy, rude, picky, argumentative, stingy, all of these not so nice words.

It seems like underneath it all is this element of being manipulative.

But I'm not necessarily saying we're talking about folks with psychopathology.

It's that sort of middle layer like they're still functional.

But nonetheless hanging around with them is not healthy for us, psychologically just

like hanging around Chernobyl is not healthy for us physically.

Maybe we're okay for a little while.

But then there's a poisonous element to it.
