1:00.0	People say, sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.
1:08.0	How many of you agree that's really stupid and untrue?
1:11.0	Raise your hand.
1:12.0	I can't believe we train our kids that over and over and over again.
1:15.0	Words can never hurt a stick and stones.
1:18.0	They can bruise our bones maybe for days or weeks.
1:24.0	But words can bruise our soul for years or even decades.
1:33.0	On the other hand, though, words can not only hurt us, but words can build us, words can lift us, words can inspire us, words can transform us.
1:44.0	They can hurt us or they can help us because words are so powerful.
1:49.0	Say it again, words are powerful.
1:53.0	Let's build a foundation from Scripture.
1:57.0	We'll just look at a few verses from Proverbs.
2:00.0	Proverbs 18-21 is where we'll start.
2:03.0	And I want you just to internalize for a moment the truth of this very power-packed little short verse.
2:10.0	The Bible says that the tongue or our words has the what?
2:15.0	Would you say it aloud?
2:16.0	The tongue has the power of life and death, the tongue, the words that we speak.
2:24.0	The words we speak can be life-giving or they can be life-taking.
