I want to move into this word this morning.

We've been in a conversation about confidence that we started last week and I can't shake

this particular passage of scripture.

It's in Psalm 18, it's a psalm of David and I'll read just a few verses therein but it's

in a elaborate array of thoughts attempting to capture what deliverance looks like from

God's perspective.

And so let's go there.

We're going to start in verse 6.

Psalm 18 beginning at verse 6.

It says, David is reading this.

This is his song.

This is his poem.

This is his testimony.

He says, in my distress, I called upon the Lord, the word that was translated, it called

there's a Hebrew word, a better translation would be, I accosted the Lord in my distress.

I didn't just call him.

I called upon him in such a way it was as if I was accosting him.

You have got to answer me.

I will not let you pass by.

I will not allow this to be business as usual.

I'm in a predicament.

I'm in a situation.
