I would be dishonest and not telling the truth if I didn't tell you my heart is a little

heavy this morning.

As it relates to some of the things that have been happening in our nation, particularly

in the amount of time that those things have taken place in the last 24 hours, I think

unfortunately the carnage is about 29 people lost their life and a couple of dozen others

or more actually several, a few dozen are injured because of gun violence.

And to be honest with you, I kind of felt something I was actually going to be starting

a series next week called as in the air because I really felt like we were going to move

into a very challenging time because of a lot of the rhetoric that's in the air and a

lot of the propaganda and just so much and when you put that in the air consistently,

it affects people and some people who pushes them completely off the edge.

And so I knew that and the church, I wanted to prepare the church for it and ultimately

to prepare the church so that the church would know how to respond and navigate in times

like that and to not be intoxicated by what is in the air.

But to operate almost like with the spiritual gas mask so that we can stay focused and

be all that God has called us to be.

And so I was planning on starting that last Sunday and finishing up our series on the

Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit this Sunday and I still might do that, I might bridge

them in together because we have to understand how to navigate these times.

And there's a lot going on, not just at that high level but there's a lot going on in

our lives.
