Hello, my name is Ashih Sharma, and this is Business Daily.

Now, you know you're at an important event, when just a few metres in front of you, you have the King and Queen of Spain.

They're here to inaugurate the Ferre International de Tourism called Fitor, one of the biggest

tourism and travel trade shows, organised here in Madrid.

In this programme, we will travel through this trade fair to get a sense of what it's about,

but crucially to find out how much importance the travel and tourism industry is giving to get a sense of what it's about, but crucially to find out how much importance the travel and tourism industry is giving to sustainability,

and what kind of future is there for ecotourism.

We are encouraging visitors consistently, even in our media campaign, to come to Puerto Rico and insert themselves in our community, do what we do, and including

preserving our natural resources, engaging in agro tourism, ecotourism, which we have as well.

We're way out of the COVID pandemic numbers.

But if you take 2019 as a baseline, we had 10% of the world's economy came from travel and tourism,

represented about $10 trillion.

Last year, we got back to about $9.7 trillion.

And of the world population, we had every one in ten jobs come from travel and tourism.

So let's take a big dive into FITOR, get a sense of what happens at an event like this,

and see how serious this industry is about sustainability and the environment.
