Man, it seems really quick that we're playing this music.

I mean, it seems like the season just ended.

And if I feel that way, Bruce Cassidy's got to feel that way, too.

How much time off does a head coach get after playing all the way into June?

I mean, it really is amazing.

I mean, when you're a team that goes that deep into the season, it's you probably get like a month. You probably blink and all of a sudden you're doing it all over again. But Bruce Cassidy, the head coach of the Boston Bruins, and he joins us on the Volkswagen Dealers expert hotline. First of all, congratulations, Mr. Casti, on the contract extension. That is

well-deserved, sir. Well, thank you. I think it's been a good fit here for both sides,

so looking forward to a nice extended around here. How many years are going to be here?

I think it's a total of four, I hope.

I don't know. I any time, as you know.

I mean, listen, you know. Let's not think that way. Well, it would be great if they can't. If things, you know, continue to go deeper to the postseason, I don't think you have anything to worry about. But what did you do to get that taste out of your mouth? Because, I mean, I can't imagine being on the other side of that. you know, even as a fan, you know, it's tough with a team that you like and, you know, they go so far.

Then you get to game seven. But for you, was alcohol involved? Yeah, I mean, did you go to Vision Quest or what did you do? We go hiking or how did you kind of mentally get that out of your system before you started this one? Well, I think it's, you sort of stuff it in the compartment for later on. I mean, there was a lot of positives last year. We're trying to build on those. But, yeah, the one big negative sticks out. So, and then I think the part that's, that's hard is during the summer, you know, people come up to you and I love to talk hockey. and it's, you know, and there will be that person that just kind of gets you on the wrong day. Like, ah, what about game seven? Like, Jesus, we've got to go through this again, huh? But, you know, all in all, I think that the best medicine is getting back to work with the guys. You know, that they're back. Everyone's back.

We're relatively healthy.

We've got a couple guys that are still injured, but those are from last year. So we got through training camp for the most part. Crutch is a little banged up, but he's going to be good to go. I think Thursday. So I think just being back together and working again is the best medicine to sort of move on. How do you take, and this has got to be a ridiculous task,

how do you take a team that played more hockey than all except one team in the league last year

and had as physical of a playoff run as you guys had

and prepare them to not burn out earlier than most?
