Now, a storm update from the WBZ weather team.

I'm WBZ TV meteorologist Barry Burbank with your update on today's Northeaster.

And so far, we've had quite a bit of snow breaking out across the region.

It hasn't accumulated very much just yet. We've got rain over Cape Cod in the islands where it's in the 40s right now, and that warm air comes right up along the Plymouth County Coastline. In Plymouth, it's over 40 degrees with some rain falling. It's unlikely the rain will move up to Boston, so it's going to be plain snow right here in the city, southwest, west, and northwest,

and a blizzard warning is up along the coast

and southeastern Massachusetts, except Cape Cod and the islands where that rain is falling, but down in the Cape, it'll switch over to snow this afternoon with a flash freeze likely there. Winter storm warning up across the rest of the region. We're going to have the most snow from the second half of this morning into the first half of this afternoon. Three to six inches of snow in much of the region except Southeast Mass by noontime. It looks like we'll have about 10 to 14 inches of snow in the ground by 6 or 7 o'clock this evening.
