Yeah, well, it looks like Braden Shen of the St. Louis Blues

will not be getting any supplemental discipline for his hit on David Crachy on Wednesday night. Why? Well, consistency, of course.

NHL just killing it this year in the officiating department. Are you shocked that there was nothing that was handed down after what you saw happen?

Yes. Just a couple of you are shocked. I am shocked. I was just disappointed, not shocked. I was shocked because, first of all, we all understand David Backus never should have gotten three games for this. But the NHL is so hypersensitive to any kind of headshot, regardless of if it's accidental or not. Well, that's why I defended. It was a open ice hit, and it was bad luck. And David Creachie wasn't hurt, which I think factored into all of this.

I haven't listened to the NHL tape of it, but there's no one. I'm stunned. Well, we are not suspending. Whatever the case may be, I haven't read the NHL's explanation for this. I have no knowledge of it. But I can tell you that, no, I didn't think it was a suspendable hit,

but the point was David Backus wasn't suspendable either.

Sure. And so because of that, because the NHL, any type of headshot, regardless of whether it's accidental or not, they're going to suspend someone. I was shocked that Shen didn't get at least one game. Well, that's why I defended the Bacchus suspension, not the amount of games, but I thought he should have been suspended because I'm like, here's the deal.

Beginning of the season, they said we are going, we're going to make sure that we end hits to the head. This is something we're not going to joke around about. I'm like, that's just the league right now. But it's not the league right now. When you look at something like this happened, the guy gets a hit to the head, he leaves his skates, and you don't suspend him as well,

and he is somebody who has been suspended before for charging. Was it T.J. Oshy a couple years ago? Let's give him one game, right? Okay, if it wasn't as clear cut as that Bacchus was, then give him one game. What the problem we have right now, And NFL is a clear example of the catch. What is it a catch? Nobody can seem to consistently this lack, this zero consistency in all of these calls. Like you said, make a statement at the beginning of the year, and then if it happens, sorry, it's unfortunate, but this is what the rule we got to call it same thing with the catch this is what a catch it catches we have to call it there's just no consistency and that that ticks off the players sure ticks off the fans

once again that's the whole reason i defended bacchchus, the Bacchus suspension. I'm

like, sorry, NHL says, we're getting rid of it. You got to suspend the guy. It sends a message. Three games I thought was a little ridiculous for a guy who'd never had it happened before. But now you can't defend the NHL after they do this and they let the guy skate. No pun intended. It's fairly ridiculous.
