Few people know more about winning in Formula One than Total Wolf.

For the Mercedes team principle, anything other than first feels like failure.

Winning lasted overnight.

The feeling was gone and you were thinking about the next race.

But when losing, I felt it so much as a personal downfall that it lasted for a few days.

The 115 race wins, eight constructors championships and seven drivers titles,

one under Total's leadership so far, are in the past.

And so now is 2022, a season where the silver arrows fell short of the target.

In the organisation, nobody should say that we've done a bad job here.

There's no hiding, there's no seeking for explanation how we ended up there.

I mean, all of us are saying we got this very wrong.

And others got it very right.

With our learnings, I think we will be back in a more potent form next year,

but is it a given? Certainly not.
