It's been a month of extreme weather, record-breaking temperatures, factor 50 and a great deal of watering.

And certainly at RHS Flower Show, Tatten Park last week, a huge effort was made to keep the plants

and the gardeners in great shape for the return of the Northwest's most prestigious gardening event. Just 15 miles south of Manchester City Centre at Tatton Park in Nutsford, the RHS hosted

Yes, I think fittingly given the weather, one of our first big focuses was on climate and sustainability.

There was a whole section dedicated to greenerfront gardens, restoring tarmac driveways, back to little oases of nature.

I loved the planting, the way that they'd introduced natural habitats for birds and nectar-rich flowers.
