Hey, wonderful's welcome to episode 423 of the JV club. We have entered Boys of Summer.

Ooh, that was a very rough voice in almost every way. I want to thank you for

getting through that and hopefully not turning off this entire podcast because

this is a very very special, very close to my heart.

My dear friend Torin Anderson, who was such an inspiration and influence in my life from fourth grade, really onward into adulthood, is my first

guest of Boys of Summer. He is up to some amazing work day to day. He is also a wonderful, wonderful author. I highly encourage

you to get a hold of a copy one way or the other of his I don't mean like in a heist type scenario what I say one way or another I mean however you choose to ingest your books to check out Pinata Moon.

I talk about it more with Torren in the episode, but you know, this is a perfect example

of an artist who has made something beautiful and you can support that art if you want to get it and read it.

I will give you just a quick warning, maybe a warning is a strong word, but there is a mention of our friends

suicide so a little bit of a trigger warning there we do not talk about the

event at all in any detail whatsoever.

There is a very, very light and quick reference to it

with respect to Pinata Moon,

but I just wanted to put that out there as well. I found that his book to be, oh, it's just so wonderful. It's, I say it in the episode, but it's a, it's such a wonderful reflection of kind of how we felt as young people growing up in kind of a magical place,

which is the Sonoran Desert.

So highly recommend that.

I of course am excited for you to just listen to the episode because you get a little

snippet of my teenage years as well or maybe a what's a what's bigger than a snippet?
