It's really an honor to be, I have the opportunity to do service in this way and hopefully I'll bring you a good message.

Our topic tonight is practicing the principles of recovery in relationships.

And I guess the reason that we do this, I mean,

already covered steps 1 through 12,

and then these are, you know know we're getting into the chapters two

wives and the family afterward that's what we're going to basically the principals are going

to come out of those two chapters and the reason that that's so important is that at least I don't know if you would agree with this but at least in my experience that I think they talk about it in the 12 and 12 is that the inability to maintain a relationship

with another person is the root of our alcoholism.

So yes, it's great to be in relationships. I mean realistically we're in

relationship with something all the time, whether it's a person or a job or a room, a chair, any, or in relationship all the time and it's great and we sort of take it for granted but for

alcoholics it's really important that we get clear on what that's all about because if we don't it will kill us eventually
