Now, as I told you, I got sober in 1979.

We could read the big book unsupervised in those days.

And also, we got sober on reading the whole book.

We didn't get this 164 pages stuff.

And I got sober in 1979.

The third edition of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous came out in 1978.

And I didn't have anybody ever tell me that their second edition was better than my third edition.

I didn't have anybody say to me, oh, I don't know where the stories are.

I don't, you know, the people that taught me about Alcoholics Anonymous had read the new book, were familiar

with all of it so that they could meet me where I was. They were ready to be of service to me.

They weren't standing there waiting for me to figure out how I could be like them and get

something that they had that i couldn't get

so
