am an alcoholic and um i'm kind of actually stumped right now because i opened up the workshop packet that Karen has today

probably about two hours ago and I looked at step seven and I've had a completely new experience

this year with the steps and when I looked at step seven I just started laughing because I have been living in step seven for the last year.

And basically, you know, I don't know how many of you guys have this packet, but step seven problem being arrogance.

And for me, arrogance is kind of the definition of an alcoholic.

I think I know everything. I think I know what's right for me. I think I know what's right for you. I think I know what's right for you. I think I know basically which way to turn on the road. And the fact of the matter is for me is that the longer I'm sober, the more I don't know. The more I don't know what's good for me, I don't know what's good for you.

The more I realize that my life does not belong to me.

Simple as that.

My life is whatever God's going to make my life.

And my job is to show up.

I did not use to live that way.

I used to live in a very arrogant, very self-centered and self-seeking fashion.

And what does that mean?

You know, for a long time it came to AA and people would say, oh, I was so self-centered.

And I was like, yeah, me too.

And I really didn't know what that meant.

And same thing with self-seeking.

Same things with a lot of the terms that we have here.

I didn't really know what they meant.
