London, an alcoholic suicide at age 40, wrote to his friend Jack Barrymore, and he said,

Jack, last night the creature came, and he took my heart away.

This is the disease of the spirits and of the souls.

And if we don't take care of ourselves and our spirits and our souls here,

we will be in big trouble.

And that's the whole point of this primary purpose. And that's the whole point of this primary purpose.

And that's the whole point of the announcements they make about singleness of purpose.

It isn't that we're trying to exclude anybody.

Our book says we are never to be exclusive.

We are to be all-inclusive.

But it's all-inclusive with respect to alcoholics. Now, I know I'm preaching to the choir here. But it's all inclusive with respect to alcoholics.

But I think you should know these things if you have to deal with these people who insist

on trying to use our own traditions against us.

When someone tells you that, all I need is a desire to stop drinking. No, no, no.

No, no.

You need to be an alcoholic.

And that is someone who is powerless over alcohol.

And you can have all the desires you want.
