My name is Scott, I'm alcoholic, and I'm very, very grateful to be here. I'd like to

open anything I do with a quotation from Lois Wilson, who has asked one time what she did

in the moment of silence. She said, I invite God to the meeting. It's not, I don't believe

God's here. I do believe that. I seem to get a special gift from a stop-and-on to that

presence. And so in a couple of moments, I'm going to ask you to do that. Now, there may

be somebody here who doesn't have a God, or maybe somebody here who got here like I did

afraid there might be one, and you're trying to hide from them. If that's your situation,

I'd like to recommend you borrow mine, recommend it very highly, as a great sense of humor.

And been keeping me sober since the 28th of June of 1984, and speaking of happy coincidence,

that was my 41st birthday. Happy birthday to you, not that year. It's a happy coincidence

today. It wasn't that day. Isn't it funny how sometimes those things work out? So I'm

coming up on 38 years here in about 10 days. And that's a long time for a guy that only

agreed to 28 days. And I'm talking a little bit about how that happened and some of those

strange things that have happened in my life. And I guess I'll get back to those. Because

there are always new people around, sometimes they introduce themselves, or sometimes they

don't. I need to do a little bit of drunk a log to help them be welcome. I didn't start

drinking until I was 18. I was out with the boys. They went into a bar. I followed them

into the bar. They ordered a beer. I ordered the same brand of beer. They did. You know
