Yeah, you know, the, uh, the birthday is like, you know, like, a lot of times I'll talk

nothing to me at all, you know, and then this time when I'm like, the candles represented

a lot of struggle from a way of life and from places where I didn't believe I'd ever

be able to get away from and then I came into a world that I couldn't describe how good

that world is, you know, because of the fact that the life that I get that I had been

given, you know, and, uh, here in Alcoholics Anonymous where I was something really to

know and something to talk about because the fact of Alcoholics Anonymous in the beginning

for me, you know, was probably maybe similar a little bit like yours or we are, is that

the main purpose of coming here was to stay sober.

And to stay sober was the name of the game and it wasn't the name of the game too at that

time because I came here out of a hospital where I had to stay sober where I wound up locked

in a room and strapped down on a bed, you know, and so on.

But through the years I found out that it's not a question so much anymore and hasn't

been for many years about staying sober.
