How are we doing this morning?

Aspects of the illness you know why is that why is that a topic it's kind of an unusual topic maybe one of the reasons i felt strongly about doing it is

because alcoholism is so misunderstood it It is so misunderstood by people in

AA. It is so misunderstood by people that treat us for it, by professionals that treat us for it.

They misunderstand. You know, it goes across the board.

Back in the early days of treatment in the 1800s, there was a lot of drinking back in the

1800s.

I mean, there was nothing to do.

There was no TV.

There was no internet.

I mean, you just, you know, there was no lights, you know?

I mean, there was nothing really to do.

So you'd wander down to the pub and start drinking.

And alcoholism and alcohol consumption per capita was hugely more back in the 1880s than it was now.

Now that led to a lot of people getting out of control.

Chris was talking about there's a certain percentage of people who are genetically predisposed for alcoholism and it's always been that way.
