And these are Puerto Rico's top news for today. So we start off with Puerto Rico's

mayors are trying to have more control over the funds

that are coming in for the Puerto Rico recovery.

Right now as it is, the COR-3, which is a government, central government agency being created

to manage these funds, has most of the control.

They decide where they go, how they're spent, who gets the contracts.

But the mayors are saying that this is wrong and that they should have control because they're

the ones who have to look up to the constituents and say, hey, this was fixed or this was not

fixed.

What's happening here and which is not really in their favor is that just today a report came out from

Alre Puerto Rico, which is a transparency nonprofit that says that pretty much most of our

mayors are doing a terrible job of managing their finances, which is precisely what the federal government does not want to

get into. They want to get good financial management, people who are not overspending, who are

spending in the right things. And it's really hard for them to give mayors control of all

this capital when they know their municipalities are in very, very large financial troubles. I know the central government is as well,

but hey, I think it's better to deal with just one

financial party who has been smagging

that with two at the same time.
