It is finally here. This is what you have been waiting for. It is the ultimate running back

rankings and tiers list for 2023. Consider this your blueprint for attacking the running

back position this year. And I won't take up much more of your time. Without further ado,

here are the top 30 running backs for 2023. And we'll start with the number one running back

and that is going to be none other than Christian McCaffrey, the clear running back one. He has no contract issues and he plays in the

most creative run offense. In last year, in his 10 games with the 49ers, he averaged 23 fantasy

points and 6.3 targets per game. This was the number one running back in fantasy during that time.

And the production is pretty stable because the usage was there. McCaffrey averaged 20 touches and 115 yards in

these 10 games. And even more good news is Brock Purdy is cleared. He's going to be starting

week one, meaning Trey Lance won't be who's more mobile and he would have taken some rushing

touchdowns for McCaffrey. No worries now. Okay, now we get to the number two running back

this year and that is going to be Austin Echler who has the ultimate cheat codes for fantasy. And those

cheat codes are presented right here. His receptions, 107 last year was 22 more than any other

running back and his targets, 127 at the RB position. And remember this tip about running back

targets. They're worth over two and a half

times more than a carry in fantasy football. And the reason for this is that one PPR points per

reception, but also yards per catch is much greater than yards per carry. Now, Echler did just

turn 28, but he doesn't have the same usage as a 28 year old back. As you can see, if we go to

the beginning of his career, just 47 carries, barely breaking 100 carries for most years of his career until the past two

seasons. So he's not your average 28-year-old. He has much less tread on his tires. And expect even

greater efficiency this year with Justin Herbert and left tackle Rashon Slater now healthy. All right,

the number three running back is Sequin Barkley, who just got his contract situated and he signed a one-year deal for $11 million. He's going to be playing every game
