Summary
Our take on the internet's most overused clickbait tool. Each episode of the Top 3 series, we will count down our Top 3 favorite… well… just about anything. So far we have covered Tin Art, Pipe Carvers To Watch, Breakfast Blends, and more! Don’t be surprised if Coffees, Whiskeys, and a few other beloved items find their way into this series as well. This week: Top 3 Virginia Tobaccos
Pipe Question: Mr JD, I’ve been looking at a Missouri Meerschaum General. Since it has a deeper bowl, can I just stuff more tobacco in and smoke longer, or does the depth and larger amount of tobacco cause the bottom leaf to soak up more moisture, become soggier and counterproductive to a long smoke? Do you have any thoughts on straight vs bent for a longer, dryer smoke? On average, with my Peterson straight Bulldog, I’ll smoke Country Squire Seersucker (delicious by the way) about 45min till it goes out.
Also, I live in West Texas and the wind regularly sustains 20+mph, gusting into 40+, and I work outside. Is that expecting too much of a windcap to be effective or you think it’ll work? Seriously, thanks for being my virtual tobacconist since there’s NO pipe shop within 6 hours to me. Really excited for the new shows! Here’s to another year of pipe smoking! - Derek J.
QFQ - Collectables Edition
Did/do you collect cards, if so what kind?
Did/do you collect toys, if so what kind?
Did/do you collect comics, if so what kind?
Did/do you collect movies/records/etc, if so what kind?
If you answered no to all of these, is there anything besides pipes that you collect?
Listener Feedback: (From Joel) Allo boys! Wanted to let you know how much your show has contributed to my enjoyment of smoking my pipes! The two biggest take-aways - the two things that have completely changed my enjoyment of pipes and pipe tobacco for the better are: 1) Tamp dat ash! - I always had trouble either keeping my pipe lit OR packing it too tightly. Now, because of your show, I have a Czech tool as part of my EDC - I can tamp and pick as needed to get the proper burn at all times! Thank you! 2)Pipe cleaner after every bowl - this has been a game changer! I used to have to deep-clean my pipes after just a few bowls - bristled pipe cleaners and whisky to really scrub the gunk out! Even had to do the salt method a couple of times! This had the effect of me not wanting to smoke, because I didn’t want to clean! …….Now, again - because of your show, I run a pipe cleaner through the stem and around the inside of the bowl after every smoke, and I just gotta say - this has made ALL the difference in the world!!! Armed with my tamp and pipe cleaner, I fear no pipe nor tobacco! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Fantastic show - as ever!

And, you know, that happens when your streets are full of Lamborghinis and Ferraris and people have lots of opinions. So, yeah, yeah, it's, You know, it's, but I will say this, man, we've also not only got these wonderful streets behind us, we've also got a beautiful view of, I think we're calling it a bay. It could be an ocean. We don't know. It's a body of water. It's a part of the ocean. There's water. It's blue. And we can see it. And we're, you understand, being from Mississippi and Texas, especially the parts of Mississippi and Texas that we are from, we're not accustomed to the idea of water being blue. It's typically brown. Right. It's something that you green at best. Right. Something that you avoid unless you have to drink. Yeah. Well, and even then, you got to filter it pretty hardcore. But so, yeah, so we've got this beautiful water out here and these uh occasionally these yachts |
