because we're going to have a conversation about really a giant piece of cinema history.

We're going to be talking about the romance film as it pertains to Hindi films and not Bollywood films.

We'll get into that in a little bit but these are movies that really have defined a culture.

I think it's a perfect time to talk about these beautiful films as Valentine's Day is coming up.

And today we'll be talking to an amazing director, Smichri Mundra.

She is the executive producer and creator of Netflix's reality TV series Indian Matchmaking.

She also directed two episodes of Never Have I Ever.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject and she is releasing a brand new documentary called The Romantics,

which is a tribute to the late Yash Chopra who is regarded as the father of romance in Indian cinema.

I'm very excited that Smichri is here because I personally feel like I have so much to learn about this genre.
